Class Description
If you’ve always wanted to learn how to sew but didn’t know where to start, this class is designed for you. Over four weeks we’ll walk through the fundamentals of using a sewing machine in a supportive, small-group environment. You’ll learn how to thread your machine, wind and insert a bobbin, understand basic stitch settings, and troubleshoot the most common sewing problems. As we build these skills, students will complete a beginner-friendly pouch project that introduces essential techniques like seam allowances, pressing, and clean finishing. This class is ideal for complete beginners or anyone who owns a sewing machine but has never felt fully comfortable using it. Our goal is to help you leave feeling confident, capable, and ready to keep sewing. What You'll Learn -How to confidently set up and use your sewing machine -How to wind and insert a bobbin -Proper threading and stitch settings -Basic troubleshooting for common sewing problems -How to sew straight seams and backstitch -Measuring and cutting fabric accurately -Understanding seam allowances -How to construct a simple pouch from start to finish Students should bring: -Sewing machine -Power cord and foot pedal -Basic sewing tools (scissors, pins or clips, seam ripper, measuring tape) -Fabric for the class project will be provided, but students are welcome to bring fabric if they have something specific they would like to use. If you don't have a sewing machine please inquire about using on our of spare machines.

To cancel or reschedule please leave 72 hours of notice so we can fill the spot with someone on the waitlist. If you cancel after the 72hr period you will be charged 40$.
