Artist Statement

This mural is a vibrant celebration of the rich biodiversity and interconnectedness of life in Prince George, British Columbia. Rolling green hills are dotted with houses, symbolizing a community that thrives in harmony with its natural surroundings. The glowing orange and yellow hues of the sunrise or sunset illuminate a landscape alive with activity and balance.

The composition highlights the region's diverse wildlife: an owl soars above, a fox prowls the hills, and a moose stands watchful amid the trees, showcasing the land's abundant terrestrial life. Beneath the flowing river waves, salmon and sturgeon swim gracefully, representing the vital aquatic ecosystems that sustain the area.

By weaving together these elements, the mural captures the essence of a community nestled within—and deeply connected to—the natural world, celebrating the intricate relationships between land, water, wildlife, and people.
